- FUNDING & SUPPORT -
Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History is registered with the State of South Carolina and the federal government as a 501(c)(3) non-profit research and education organization. As such, donations to the Center in support of its activities--including Operation RubyThroat: The Hummingbird Project--are tax-deductible in the United States to the extent allowed by law. The Center welcomes individuals and corporations to help it in its objectives through participation and through in-kind and financial gifts.
Major grants have been awarded to Hilton Pond Center by the National Science Foundation, The Christensen Fund, Agilent Technologies, and ConocoPhillips through the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation. Recent work of the Center also has been funded in part by small grants from Foundation for the Carolinas Impact Fund, the Nongame Program of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Perky-Pet, Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society of Clemson University, and the South Carolina Junior Academy of Science.
