BIRDS BANDED
at HILTON POND
WOODPECKERS
(Picidae)


Of the seven species of Woodpeckers (Picidae) expected at Hilton Pond Center, all but one have been captured and banded. Two Red-headed Woodpeckers--the only species not banded--were observed on the property in early Spring 1982; one more was seen in October 2005.
